Which lash set should I book?

Whether you’re are a first timer or a Beaches Lash Co regular, understanding lash tech terminology can be daunting!

Here we are going to go through the most popular lash styles to make it easier for you to choose when you book in!

Classic Lash Extensions -

If you want the mascara look, classic lashes are your best friend! One natural lash is adhered to one lash extension using the classic technique. This approach is frequently referred to as 1:1 or 1 to 1. For you lucky ones out there who already have a lot of lashes but wish to lengthen them, classic lashes are perfect for you!

Hybrid Lash Extensions

Hybrid combines the best of both worlds, classics and volume all in one set! It gives the lash set some added texture and extra volume that you can’t get with classics.

One of our team will add classics lashes throughout whilst scattering some volume fans to give the texture aspect.

This style of lash is the best if you’re wanting a little more drama than your traditional classic set but not quite ready to take the plunge to full volume!

You may have also heard of WISPY LASHES.. This lash style is one of the most popular styles in the Lash World and we can thank the Kardashians for this as it seems to be the Kim Ks go to lash look! You may have heard of the ‘wispy’ lash look or ‘Kim K look’ which is essentially hybrid lashes! If you are wanting a certain type of style, our stylists here would be happy to advise and adapt depending on the desired look. It’s important to remember that not all styles will suit everyone but can be adapted to suit you! If you are looking for a wispy style then book Hybrid and let your lash stylist know that you are wanting a very wispy look.

In our opinion, there is no standard hybrid set, they can be adjusted to suit everyone and we will always consult with you and recommend what we think is best. For example, we can use more volume fans on the outer corner to give that sultry, cat eye effect or we can use more volume on the middle of the lash line to give an open ‘doll’ eye effect. Again, some eye shapes don’t suit cat eye and using this shape can cause the eye to look too heavy or pull it down and we will advise you of this. Watch this space for a blog specifically on lash styles for certain eye shapes (a bit like the ones you see on certain sunglass frames suiting certain face shapes)

Volume Lash Extensions

These are the DRAMA (though we also offer a natural volume set which isn’t dramatic and can give those with minimal lashes, more a fuller mascara look and is our most popular set at Newport!)…

These will give the fluffy lash look whilst keeping that lash line dark. A volume set consists of all volume fans which you will see advertised as ‘3D,4D,5D…etc’

This just means the number of thinner, lighter lashes fanned out and placed onto one of your natural lashes. So 4D would be 4 lighter weight lashes made into a small fan. The more numbers, the fuller the lashes! We never usually go over 10D here at Beaches Lash Co however for some circumstances, we can definitely do this by hand making the fans ourselves. We also only apply more than 5D to clients with strong, healthy natural lashes and we will discuss this with you at your consult.

The dimensions of these lashes are between 0.03-0.07mm which is TINY meaning we can fit multiple lashes on one of your lashes comfortably without damaging the natural lash.

Although volume lashes scare some of us by making us think they are dark, long and unnatural looking, this isn’t always the case.

Volume lashes can be modified to give you a more natural look if that’s what you’re after but of course, speak to one of our lash specialists who will be happy to talk through this with you!
