When is a lash fill, a full set?

When is an infill a full set?

Normally our lash specialists have a limit of how many extensions you still need to have attached to your lashes to classify as an infill, as when there are less than 40% of lashes left you require a full set to create the final look again.

Caring for your lashes is the easiest way to ensure that you can stretch your infills out as long as possible, and it’s so simple to incorporate into your beauty routine. Thoroughly cleansing your lashes with a specially designed lash foam cleanser around four times a week, removing your makeup with an oil-free remover (we recommend avoiding micellar water as it is misleading and often contains oil!) and avoiding mascara are the three best habits to adopt to make those extensions last.

Essentially, lash infills are individual lashes or fans that fill in the gaps in your lash extensions which can appear after 2-3 weeks, due to natural shedding. Some people can lose lashes quicker than other due to hormones, medications, sleeping on their face or side and even activities such as saunas, sport, swimming etc.

A full set of lash extensions will look great for the first few weeks, but as a result of the lash cycle and general wear and tear (particularly those who sleep on their front or side), the lashes will start to lose their pristine look. That’s why infills are a must for anyone who wants to touch up and maintain their lashes for longer.

At Beaches Lash Co Manly and Newport, most of our regulars book in every 3 weeks. Some may do more activities or have oily skin and therefore may need infills around the 2 week mark.

Another question we often get asked is will we fill other salon or lash tech’s work? We generally require an up close photo of your lashes to confirm we will do the infill. It basically depends on the quality of the lashes and how they were applied. If we feel that aren’t up to standard, then we will not infill, but instead we will offer a removal and a full set.
